Weyburn is gearing up for its last Stronger Together Potluck of the year, which will take place on August 24th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Knox Hall.
The event, organized by Robin Davison, aims to unite the community for an afternoon of good food, music, and community spirit.
Davidson, who has been instrumental in organizing these potlucks, says they are essential within the city.
"I see a need for it, with the price of groceries and the cost of living continuing to increase. It's important to support each other at a community level."
The event promises a fun-filled couple of hours with free bread, live music, and a care package raffle. Every household attending will have a chance to win a hamper of essential goods.
"Come hungry and bring a friend," Davidson encouraged. "It's a great opportunity to get to know your neighbours and enjoy yourself for a few hours."
Feedback from previous events has been overwhelmingly positive.
"We play games, we have prizes, the food gets rave reviews. It really seems to put a smile on people's faces."
Davidson says that bringing this to the community is vital for many reasons, but one stands out.
"The name kind of sums it up: We are stronger together. It brings people together for a sense of hope, togetherness, and community, and it's a really uplifting way to spend an afternoon. "
Davidson mentioned that they are always looking for more food contributions if you are able.
