The wagons hit the track in Rocky Mountain House last night in the final WPCA event before the World Championships at the end of August.
But it wasn't High River's Jason Glass' night as he ran into 7 seconds of penalty trouble in heat #9. He would've finished in 3rd overall without the penalties.
Glass was docked five seconds for his checkered wagon knocking over a barrel and another two seconds because an outrider missed a barrel.
One of Glass' outriders, Dayton Sutherland from DeWinton also rode his wagon into the 22nd spot with Jordie Fike coming in 35th. Fike had 12 seconds of penalties dropping him down the standings. Sutherland had a one-second penalty.
Glass is still in excellent shape for the WPCA Championships as he's currently sitting in fourth place in the World standings.
Luke Tournier took the top day money with last year's Champion Chanse Vigen coming in 7th.
The Battle of the Rockies continues this weekend with the top winner of the aggregate after Sunday's heats declared the winner of the Battle of the Rockies.
The WPCA World Chuckwagon Championship finals run from August 28 to September 1.
