A fundraiser has been set up for the family of a semi-truck driver who lost his life last week.

31-year-old Harshvir Singh Malhi was driving a truck carrying ammonium nitrate when it rolled on Highway 2 near Nanton on Wednesday, August 14.

Even though the RCMP responded, Malhi was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving behind a wife and two young sons, aged 3 years old and 15 months old.

His wife is a stay-at-home mother, who is now faced with supporting her family while trying to navigate the loss of her husband.

Luckily, a co-worker of Malhi's has started a GoFundMe to help the family.

All of the donations will go towards the family to help alleviate some of the financial burdens they are feeling at this time.

The GoFundMe began late last week with a goal of raising $50,000 for the family.

As of the morning of Monday, August 19th, $48.877 has already been raised.
