Jason Raymond Richard York
Jason was born in Vancouver, B. C. to Sheila and Dick Patton on Dec 5, 1976. He was the light of their lives, and they were so proud to be parents. Jason attended both Charles Dickens elementary School and then Sir Charles Tupper Secondary School in Vancouver. After graduating, he went on to take a machinist course at BCIT. He loved heavy metal rock bands, and he took great pride in his connections to those musical endeavors. He amassed a huge collection of diecast cars and loved showing them to anyone who visited.
In 2010, he moved with his mom to Moose Jaw, SK. It was here that he settled into his new life and spent time with his family and new friends. Jason was kind and generous. His life changed significantly with the loss of his mom in 2014. Jason was very grateful to Bev Dowdy and family, who supported him through the last few years. He spent the last year of his life in Providence Place and was so thankful and appreciative of the wonderful staff that provided for his care. Jason was predeceased by his grandfather - Ray York, grandmother - Hazel York, father – Richard Patton and mother – Sheila York. He is survived by cousins and many exceptional friends. Jason passed away on August 17, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with cancer – he was 47 years old.
