Streetfest is back in a big way with a two-day celebration in downtown Humboldt. Friday kicks off the event with local vendors and businesses, food trucks and booths, and a huge street dance, anchored by Saskatchewan award winning recording artist Codie Prevost.

Codie is originally from the Archerwill area and he’s no stranger to Humboldt, having performed here in the past. It’s been a few years since Codie has been onstage in Humboldt, and he’s looking forward to returning, as are his audience.

“It’s going to be great – the whole band and I are looking forward to getting back and seeing everybody. With our shows, we’ve always done our best to get everyone involved in the crowd, and we’re definitely looking to do that on Friday night.”

Codie is looking forward to sharing the stage with musical compatriots Darryl Anderson and 40 Oz Philosophy. His music runs the gamut from straight up country rockers to soulful ballads like “Today’s Not My Day” from his album Radio.

“We’ll be doing a little of everything with lots of dancing songs because it’s the Friday night kick off to the big festival. We’re going to get people partying, get people having a good time.”

With the event open to people of all ages with parents or guardians, Codie says there could be people up on stage singing and contributing to the festival atmosphere. There’s a stripped-down acoustic part of the set where Codie’s voice and playing shine.

In addition to the Streetfest stop, Prevost has some performances lined up for this fall along with some new music.

“I’m hoping to get back into the studio later this year and start recording some new music. My wife and I had our third child in the last while, so we have three daughters. My third daughter is getting to be almost two years old, so now's the time to get back in there and hit the ground running.”

Anyone who has seen Codie perform or listened to his music knows they’re in for a high energy, leave it all on the stage kind of performance. Newcomers can get a taste of his music on streaming platforms and on his website CodiePrevost.com

Come on out Friday night for the kickoff to one of Humboldt’s biggest summer festivals with Codie, Darryl and the 40 Oz crew at the Streetfest dance. Tickets are available through the Streetfest website.
