Weyburn Culture days are returning to Weyburn. Events will be running from September 20th to October 13th as part of a nationwide event. The curator with the City of Weyburn and the Weyburn Art Gallery, Regan Lanning, says sixteen events are planned, including cultural performances, art events, concerts and the Culture-Palooza on September 28th.
“They are all free events. A couple that the library is hosting do ask for registration, but for the most part, they are all just free to attend events.”
Lanning describes the event as community building, raising cultural awareness.
“Culture is very important in Canada. Things like the arts gallery are integral to mental health and participating in the arts is also very important. In Weyburn, our cultural makeup has changed a huge amount in the last 10 to 15 years and events like this are wonderful to create meeting places, to give us opportunities to get to know each other and to learn from each other.”
All Culture Days events will be posted on our events calendar.
