A talent show is being held for a good cause in Okotoks.
"Okotoks' Got Talent" is a new fundraiser event from the United Way Okotoks Partnership.
They're calling on Okotokians to show off their talents via video auditions.
Participants are advised to upload their videos to YouTube as "unlisted" so that only those with the link can view them.
In November, those who were selected based on their video will participate in live auditions at the Old Church Theatre, with the final talent show scheduled for March 7, 2025.
Though the event itself isn't until next year, the deadline to submit a video and audition form is September 15.
Community Wellness Team Lead, Sian Anderson, says that while there is a competitive element to the event, it's all about having fun while showing off one's unique abilities, especially in this first stage of auditions.
"(The videos) should be three to five minutes, and we want you to have as much fun with this as you can and show us what you've got... Just have fun with it. It does not need to be fully polished, we just want to see what your talent is."
All proceeds will go toward local non-profit organizations and programs through the United Way.
