A storm raged across the southeast last night bringing rain, lightning, and more to towns and cities around the area.

During the leadup to that storm, Environment Canada sent out watches that said hail, strong gusts, and even tornadoes were possible.

Meteorologist Stephen Berg says that while the last few days have seen storms this one was much bigger.

"There's been various storm systems that have gone by not too much in terms of precipitation reports apart from last night or yesterday afternoon. For yesterday, though, there was a pretty strong storm system that was present through much of southern Saskatchewan. Had the precipitation amounts or rainfall amounts anywhere from 10 to 20mm in much of the area, but the highest amounts that we've got for the area were for Weyburn 37mm and Quinton, with 32mm for for rainfall."

Estevan was a bit drier with rainfall totals coming in at 12mm.

It was more than just rain coming from the sky with many areas seeing heavy wind gusts throughout the southeast.

"It was also quite a windy one with maximum wind gusts of 109 kilometers per hour in Broadview and Radville had a reading of 102 kilometers per hour," said Berg. "Yellow grass and Coronach also had wind gusts of 89 kilometers per hour in the system."

Meanwhile, Estevan's top wind gusts were measured at 67 kilometers per hour.

Other extreme weather popped up in the southeast according to Berg.

"There were quite a few hail reports with some pretty large hail up to a golf ball size in the Patrofka area and the Coronach area and three, funnel cloud reports nothing confirmed. One in the Coronach area, one in the Rosslyn area, and one in the Pangman area."

While Berg hasn't seen any damage reports coming in he says he'd expect something to be broken.

"Nothing as far as damage as far as I've seen in the reports, but wouldn't surprise me with the Weyburn 37mm rainfall that some of the more urban areas might have had some localized flooding. We haven't had any reports of that yet."
