Today is A&W Canada’s 16th annual Burgers to Beat MS Day where $2 from every Teen Burger will be donated to Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Canada.
Over the past 15 years, the fundraising campaign has raised over 20 million dollars towards research and support for Canadians living with MS.
“Over 90,000 Canadians live with MS,” says Brittanee Stranks, an ambassador with MS Canada.
“I was diagnosed in 2018 and with my symptoms, I was put off work indefinitely almost immediately, so that was quite the change for me at the time. I was looking for something really to give my life purpose again and ways to give back to the community. So what better way than to team up with these two organizations that are just trying to improve the lives of Canadians like me?”
Starting at 4 p.m. today (Aug 22) there is a community event being held at the West Cochrane A&W (23 Westside Drive).
“It's going to be such a fun day, and I think we're gonna have a pretty good day for it too weather-wise,” says Stranks. “There's going to be a bouncy castle. There's going to be face painting for the kids and lots of fun things for kids to do as well. It's going to be a great family event.”
Families will be able to hang out with the A&W Root Bear and Harvey the Hound from the Calgary Flames.
91.5FM CochraneNow will be broadcasting on location with your chance to be entered to win a $76,000 truck from Ram Everyday Adventure.
You can also donate to Burgers to Beat MS online at HERE or through the A&W app. Alternatively, select $1, $2, or $5 donation options on third-party apps like Uber Eats, DoorDash, and SkipTheDishes.
