Pedestrian underpass returns to Hwy 1A

While construction for the Hwy 1A/22 interchange continues progressing, a well-loved feature has returned to the area.

The pedestrian underpass has reopened which takes Cochranties under Hwy 1A.

Before construction, the underpass was a well-used path for walkers and cyclists to travel between the Cochrane Ranche and Glenbow Drive.

For months, pedestrians have had to use a crossing light to stop traffic and walk across the major highway.

Major construction on this project began in May 2023 and is expected to take around 3 years to complete.
