A man wanted by the Carlyle RCMP is a person of interest in a separate case involving the RCMP from Manitoba, as well as the Broadview and Moosomin detachments.
Yesterday, the Broadview RCMP were advised by the RCMP in Manitoba that a stolen truck was heading to their area. Moosomin RCMP spotted the trick on Highway 8 north of Moosomin and attempted to pull the vehicle over. The driver did not pull over, though, and fled.
Around 3:30 p.m. yesterday, RCMP received a report of a Ford F-150 being stolen from a home in Rocanville. The vehicle was then seen in Moosomin around 5:00 p.m., and again officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the F-150 did not pull over.
Later patrols then found the initial Dodge truck abandoned in a rural area near Rocanville.
Police are continuing to look for information, and 35-year-old David Penner from Winnipeg is a person of interest in the investigation. He is wanted by Carlyle RCMP for then under $5,000 as well as breach of court conditions. He is also wanted on multiple warrants out of Manitoba.
He is described as being 5’11” tall, and weighing 185 lbs. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.
The truck is described as a black 2022 Ford F-150 Supercrew with Saskatchewan license plate 326MWX.
Anyone who sees Penner or the vehicle is asked to contact the RCMP immediately by calling 310-RCMP and to not approach Penner.
