The Weyburn Police Service is reminding residents to lock their vehicles after an arrest last week.

Sergeant Shane St. John said it all started when someone tried to enter into a vehicle that wasn’t their’s last Thursday.

“We were already looking for him on an outstanding warrant when somebody came in with great video tape of this gentleman trying to break into other vehicles, and then we got other video of him in a stolen vehicle,” explained Sgt. St. John this past Tuesday. “RCMP did have him on a traffic stop out of town so they arrested him for us, and then we took over custody of that subject, and he is currently in custody.”

Last week the Weyburn Police Service responded to roughly 100 calls for service, resulting in 11 charges. Two of the charges were under the Criminal Code, with eight under the Traffic Safety Act, and one under the provincial liquor and gaming regulations.
