The Okotoks Dawgs Academy announced that 11 of its players are headed to Toronto from September 17-21 to be a part of the Toronto Blue Jays Canadian Futures Showcase at Rogers Centre.

The Players who are on their way to Toronto are Austin Collins, Quincy Jenkins, Will Labonte, Tim Piasentin, Max Poirier, Louis-Charles Larouche, Robert Scalzo, Landon Kauffman, Preston Tocheniuk, Taye Thierman, and Matthew Tran.

The Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy hosts the event and enables rising amateur talent around Canada with eligibility for the draft and college. This is to help further the player's athletic and academic careers and expose them to the MLB scouts as well as college recruiters.

The Blue Jays Showcase will split the players evenly between six teams and will compete against each other in a tournament-style format. This includes a scout day, a prospects game, and a home run derby on the final day.

Since its start in 2013, over 100 players who have participated have been drafted by MLB organizations, with over 700 receiving college scholarships.
