The staff at Rempel Insurance
Categories

Rempel Insurance has been a steadfast provider of insurance services to Southern Manitoba since 1965. Its longevity and consistent growth are rooted in a few key pillars: a deep investment in its team, unwavering independence, and a commitment to serving both clients and the community. These core principles have solidified Rempel Insurance as a trusted name in the industry with values that are integral to its business.

A Client and Team-Centered Approach

At the heart of Rempel Insurance’s success is its investment in people and communities. The company understands that building strong relationships and delivering exceptional service begin with a knowledgeable and committed team. To foster this, Rempel Insurance prioritizes the education and development of its staff, enhancing its skills in leadership, business acumen, and the technical aspects of insurance. Membership in the Incite Performance Group, an exclusive network of top-performing insurance brokers in North America, is a testament to this commitment. With only one broker selected per million of the population, Rempel Insurance’s inclusion in the group as the second broker in Manitoba underscores its dedication to excellence.

The Power of Independence

In an industry increasingly dominated by mergers and acquisitions, Rempel Insurance values its independence. This autonomy allows it to operate with integrity and flexibility, ensuring that its decisions are guided solely by the best interests of its clients and community. Founded in Morris by Henry Rempel in 1965, and later expanded by Dale and Lynn Rempel, the company has continued to grow under the leadership of Shawn and Janice Graydon, who purchased the business in 2018. Today, the company’s reach extends from Ontario to British Columbia, supporting the operations of its clients across Canada. Its leadership is marked by a commitment to the values that have always defined Rempel Insurance. Shawn’s recognition as the first recipient of Canada’s Broker of the Year in 2016 and his active roles with the Insurance Brokers Association of Manitoba (IBAM) and the Manitoba Trucking Association (MTA) reflect the organization's dedication to both the trucking and insurance industries.

Tailored Solutions for Unique Needs

Rempel Insurance’s client-centric philosophy ensures that each policyholder receives personalized attention. By understanding the unique needs and circumstances of every client, the company delivers customized insurance plans that provide comprehensive coverage and peace of mind. While many independent insurance brokerages primarily focus on personal lines and Autopac, Rempel Insurance takes a different approach. Although it offers these services and has a dedicated personal lines team, eighty percent of its business is dedicated to commercial lines, with a specialization in agribusiness and transportation.

Supporting Agribusiness

Protecting the operations of farmers and agribusinesses is a priority for Rempel Insurance. It believes that in-person visits and risk education are crucial for these clients. Understanding the intricacies of a farm — including equipment, crops, and protective measures — allows the company to offer coverage that safeguards their clients’ greatest assets. Adding further value, Rempel Insurance has partnered with InputsPro, an innovative agribusiness app that won first place for innovation at Manitoba Farm Days in 2023. This technology, which digitizes the Crop Protection Guide and offers offline functionality, is a gamechanger for those in agribusiness. Particularly useful for crop input businesses, this app supports Rempel’s unique insurance program tailored to independent crop retailers. As part of its commitment to prairie agribusiness, Rempel Insurance provides annual subscriptions to growers, crop input retailers, crop applicators, and agronomists.

A Leader in Trucking Insurance

As Manitoba’s largest independent trucking broker, Rempel Insurance understands the comprehensive needs of the province’s trucking operations. Its commitment to client success is evident in its partnership with GL Transport Consulting, established in 2022, which provides clients with exclusive fleet safety services. Through in-person seminars led by industry expert Tim Lucko, clients receive education on critical topics such as compliance vs. governance, accident investigation, and driver training. An exclusive session with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) further underscores Rempel Insurance’s dedication to providing clients with the resources they need to thrive. Celebrating the trucking industry is another way Rempel Insurance connects with its community. The company’s participation in Trucking Week, including events like the MTA’s annual truck pull in support of the United Way and its own Honk Challenge along Highway 75, highlights its appreciation for the industry that keeps Manitoba’s economy moving. This year’s Honk Challenge, scheduled for Thursday, September 5th between 2-3pm, invites the entire community to join in thanking Manitoba’s truckers.

A Commitment to Community

Beyond the boardroom, Rempel Insurance is deeply embedded in the community. It actively participates in local events, sponsor initiatives, and supports charitable organizations, reflecting its belief in giving back to the communities it serves. Recently, it was honoured as the first recipient of the Insurance Broker Association of Manitoba’s Community Champion Award, recognizing its contributions to a wide array of causes. This commitment to community involvement strengthens the bonds between Rempel Insurance and its clients, fostering a culture of compassion and service. Whether through volunteering, fundraising, or sponsorships, the team at Rempel Insurance demonstrates that its role as a community partner goes far beyond business. It’s about building lasting relationships and supporting the people and causes that matter most.
