A set of Okotoks Dawgs jerseys are on their way to Sylvan Lake, courtesy of Okotoks Mayor Tanya Thorn.
The mayors of both towns agreed to a friendly wager over the outcome of the WCBL Western Division finals between the Okotoks Dawgs and Sylvan Lake Gulls.
With the Dawgs having taken the series 2-1 in the best-of-three matchup and eventually winning the WCBL championship (for the third consecutive season), Sylvan Lake's council members will all be repping the Dawgs at Monday's meeting.
Mayor Thorn could barely contain her excitement in a Facebook post on Friday (Aug. 23), which included a picture of her packing the jerseys prior to sending them up north.
Along with the seven jerseys, Thorn included a box of tissues, "to soak up your tears of joy!"
This isn't the first time Sylvan Lake's town council has had to wear the Dawgs' red and white, as they made a similar wager in 2022.
