The Morden Corn & Apple Festival started with a exciting Friday night, drawing residents and visitors to downtown Morden.

The streets were lined with vendors, attracting visitors with a variety of crafts, foods, and special finds. Morden’s Flea Market was a popular stop, as was Artisan Alley, where local crafters showcased their creations.

The afternoon saw buskers entertaining crowds at various stations, adding a lively soundtrack to the festivities. The iconic roasted corn and apple cider, available throughout the day, were festival staples, with many returning for seconds.

"It's been crazy busy... but it's fun! I see lots of people I haven't seen in years," said Norma Wood, who has been involvedwith the Corn & Apple Festival for 20 years. "We like to get our 4H group involved early—they start young, and they keep going."

Norma and her 4H group play an important role, selling cider and bulk corn, she finds joy in the community connections that the festival brings.

As the evening approached, the festival hit its stride with the opening ceremonies and a series of live performances. Festival attendees also enjoyed classic old-time dance music at the Cottonwood Dance Stage with Vince Anderson & The Ace Band.

Friday's events set the tone for the weekend, the combination of live music, good food, and warm summer weather created an inviting atmosphere that perfectly captured the festival's spirit.
