This past weekend marked the end of the 2024 race season at Dead Horse Creek Speedway, where drivers and fans gathered to watch the final laps. The speedway, known for its dirt track and passionate racing community, once again delivered an action-packed weekend that perfectly ended the season full of fierce competition.

"It's very fulfilling and rewarding to see people show up. We built it and they're coming," said Chris Unrau, Dead Horse Creek Speedway organizer and promoter. "The sun's out, the sky is blue, and people are showing up. There's a ton of excitement and buzz about this weekend. Racers are really looking forward to it, and we think the community is ready for three big days of racing,"

Saturday's races were the highlight of the weekend, with drivers pushing their vehicles to the limit with the goal of victory. The event saw intense matches across all classes, each providing edge-of-your-seat entertainment. Fans cheered as their favourite drivers handled tight corners, navigated challenging track conditions, and showcased the skill and determination that has defined the 2024 season.

"This weekend was absolutely fantastic. It was hot all three days. The racing was awesome, the fans were fantastic. Saturday night we had almost 2000 people on our grounds. Everything went off without a hitch," said Kerwin Hiebert, volunteer and emcee. "We'd like to thank the fans, like to thank Chris, and the Valley Motor Sports Association for providing this area and community with such a great establishment. Without them, we can't build the community to help serve the boundary trails expansion going on right now, that's where some of these funds will be going."

From the opening race weekend to the spirited finale this weekend, each event has been a testament to the dedication of the drivers, the hard work of the pit crews, and the unwavering support of the fans. Each race day united the community in the spirit of competition and camaraderie.

"It was really good racing all weekend... I think fans got to see a little bit of every side of dirt racing, whether it was fast and heavy or just really technical driving. We got to see a lot of different cars and it really is a great place to get introduced to the sport," said Jeremy Wall, volunteer and emcee.

It’s clear that this year’s races have left a lasting impact on the drivers, crews, and fans who made it all possible.
