The Okotoks Dawgs 15U Black squad was in Laval, Quebec over the weekend and finished second at the 2024 Ray Carter Cup, falling just short in a 2-0 ball game against British Columbia in the finals.

The Dawgs started the tournament with two wins on Thursday (August 22). In the first game, they were able to get past the Saskatchewan 15U team with a 4-2 victory and followed it up with an 8-7 victory over the New Brunswick 15U squad. 

They continued their winning ways on Friday with another two wins, the first coming in a 5-2 victory over the Newfoundland and Labrador 15U team, and then finished the day with an 8-2 commanding win over Nova Scotia.

In the lone Saturday game, the Dawgs found themselves on the losing end of an 8-2 score with Prince Edward Island taking the "W".

On Sunday the Dawgs 15U Black squad got back in the win column with a 3-0 victory over the host team of Quebec. In the finals, the Dawgs couldn't get past the B.C. 15U team, coming in second place during the Ray Carter Cup. The Dawgs finished the weekend tournament with five wins and two losses. They would also outscore their opponents 30-23.
