On Friday, Aug. 23, officers responded to a complaint about an intoxicated woman in the Duncan Road area. A 20-year-old woman was transported to her residence and placed in the care of an adult. However, she left shortly afterward and was located by officers, who arrested her for being intoxicated in public. She was held in custody until sober.

Later that day, EMS requested police assistance after a motorbike collided with a tree in the 1400 block of Nicholson Road. The 17-year-old rider was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was issued a 60-day driving suspension, and the motorbike was impounded. Police continue to investigate, with charges pending related to operating a conveyance while impaired by alcohol.

A 58-year-old woman was also arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. She was asked to leave a residence after causing a disturbance but continued to return and cause issues. She was arrested and lodged in custody.

On Saturday, Aug. 24, EPS responded to a report of a loose dog on the southwest side of the city. Officers located the owner and returned the dog. Later in the day, police responded to a call about a woman causing a disturbance at a residence. Officers attended and mediated a resolution.

A traffic stop that day resulted in a male driver being issued a 72-hour driver’s license suspension and a three-day vehicle impoundment after a roadside screening device indicated a warning.

On Sunday, Aug. 25, a large St. Bernard-type dog was found running at large in the Cundall Drive area. The dog was transported to the Humane Society.

Police also responded to a call about a male youth walking alone in the northern part of the city. Officers assisted him in reaching his destination.

A hit-and-run collision at a local business was also reported, and the matter remains under investigation.

Officers spoke with a woman observed panhandling in front of a local business. She was advised that her actions were unlawful and was sent on her way.

A 46-year-old Estevan man was arrested for assault after a complaint that a man was being chased by a truck on Fourth Street. The man is scheduled to appear in court at a later date, with the condition that he has no contact with the victim.

EPS is also investigating the theft of an iPhone and other belongings from the change rooms at the Leisure Centre on Sunday evening. The investigation is ongoing.
