The 8th Annual Dustin Pratt Memorial Tournament was held over the weekend with golfers coming to the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club to take part.

With those golfers dressed as rednecks, the event raised money for community causes in Pratt's name.

Roxane Pratt, his mother and organizer of the event, says that it was a hit.

"It went over really amazing. We had 23 teams, so 92 golfers. The weather was really hot, but we couldn't have asked for a better day. We raised just shy of $9000."

That money came from a variety of sources including a $500 registration fee for each team and a raffle.

"We just want to thank everybody who came to the tournament, everybody that donated raffle prizes, we had a couple of people just do private donations," said Pratt. "Without everybody's help and generosity, we couldn't have done all the things that we've been able to do in the years."

This year, they're looking at putting the money towards scholarships for graduating students in the southeast.

They're already getting ready for next year's tournament and the fun that'll bring.

"We're going to go on with the 9th annual Dustin Pratt Memorial, and it'll be the same time, towards the end of August,"  said Pratt. "So yeah, we've still got the interest there to hold it. So as long as people want to come and support us, we'll keep throwing the tournament."
