The Longview 4-H Beef Club is holding its first parent meeting of the 2024-2025 year at the Longview Hall on September 12 at 7:00 p.m.

Ross Lewis who is with the Longview 4-H Beef Club explains what parents can expect from the first meeting of the season.

"Here pretty quick on September 12th at seven o'clock at the Longview Hall, we are going to have our parent and organizational meeting where we will go through all the important dates of the year, kind of expectations, and get that all nailed down," Lewis said.

"Then the first Thursday in October, which I believe is the third, we will have our first member meeting at the Hall in Longview at seven o'clock. We will have our elections and then we are off to the races."

Lewis added why he and his wife are involved with the 4-H Beef Club, as well as how it is a great experience for kids.

"We really like how it installs a work ethic in our youth. It teaches the kids where our food comes from, and what it takes to get it there. It's a great learning opportunity, and the financial award at the end is good too. There is a bunch of kids who put themselves straight through college on 4-H money," he added.

"I know a lot of employers love to see that 4-H on a resume."
