Summer vacation is over for many students in Foothills County.

Students who attend a school under the Christ the Redeemer Catholic School Division in both Okotoks and High River are returning to school on Wednesday, August 28th, while those who attend a school under the Foothills School Division still have a bit more vacation left.

Schools under the Foothills School Division are returning after Labour Day on Tuesday, September 3rd.

The Foothills School Division is also offering a Student Transition Day on August 30th, if parents and students want to head down to the school a bit earlier.

With school returning, there will be more foot traffic and kids playing around schools.

While the School Zones in High River are 30 km/hr, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year-round, the School Zones in Okotoks will be back in effect once the students return to school.

The School Zones in Okotoks are in effect between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on school days.
