The Weyburn Soccer Association is preparing for its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 10th at 7 p.m. According to Jason Roy, the President of the Weyburn R.M. office, the meeting will take place in the community meeting room.
"Every year, we have positions up for election. This year, our treasurer is up for the term, our registrar, Fields and Equipment, and our Sponsorship."
In addition to these key positions, the association also seeks volunteers for sub-positions, which do not require board membership.
"We have a Referee in Chief, a Female Development Coordinator, a Grassroots Coordinator, and an Adult Soccer Coordinator," Roy explained. "There is no experience necessary for these positions. We work with you, it's a very family-oriented setting. We welcome anybody out to come and try or even just to become a member at large to see what we're all about."
Roy made sure to mention that the association is open to anyone to come and join, stating that it is a no-pressure organization.
The Weyburn Soccer Association encourages all interested community members to attend the AGM on September 10th to learn more about the association, volunteer opportunities, and how they can contribute to the local soccer community.
