MVPs and more: Estevan Minor Baseball celebrates stellar season at awards night

Estevan Minor Baseball has wrapped up its season with an awards night to celebrate the achievements of players throughout the year.

Mel Murray, vice president of Estevan Minor Baseball, said the event is important to recognize the efforts of all participants.

"It was well attended; every year it seems like it's getting bigger and bigger," Murray said.

Each team, starting with the U11 division, were presented with awards for Most Improved Player, Most Sportsmanlike, and MVP, along with several other honours.

Reflecting on the season, Murray noted that several teams in the AAA and AA leagues performed well, with a few winning their regional leagues. The 18U Brewers went on to win the Western Canada Championship.

"Overall, this season went really well, except for the bad weather we had at the start. But in the end, all the kids got their games in, and it was a very good season for us," he said.

The season will officially conclude with the AGM on Oct. 8, where planning for next year will begin.
