The Town of High River is wanting to develop options for a key east-west corridor in town.

The High Country Drive extends from Longview Trail NW to Centre Street N/Highway 2A and serves the northwest quadrant of town.

Due to concerns they heard about that road, the Town is looking for input from residents on how to improve the road for those who use it, whether they are biking, walking, or driving.

The Town is currently in the first of two stages of public engagement, because they want to hear from and collaborate with the community while they create design options while improving High Country Drive.

This improvement project is focused on all modes of travel down that road, including walking, biking, driving, and rolling.

To provide input, there is a survey online that can be found here, where they will ask people to provide their concerns and thoughts for improving different sections of the road.

On top of the online survey, the Town will also hold two in-person events, where they will discuss this project.

The first in-person event is Friday, August 30th, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Highwood Spray Park and Pump Track at 1819 High Country Dr. NW, and the second one will be on September 12th at the High River Farmers Market on 4th Ave SW and 1 St SW.

The online survey will be available throughout September, and from there they will get into Options Development, which will begin this fall.
