A significant change in weather is quickly on its way to the Cochrane area.
Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a special weather statement for the region saying upwards of 40 mm of rain is expected by Wednesday evening.
Heavy rain and strong winds are expected Tuesday evening with showers becoming more intense throughout Wednesday.
A strong northerly wind is expected to develop early Wednesday morning and gusts could reach upwards of 80 km/h.
The strong wind is expected to weaken by Wednesday afternoon.
By Thursday, residents can expect summer-like temperatures once again.
