Estevan Police Service had a busy Tuesday, responding to multiple incidents across the city, including a motorcycle fire that left the vehicle damaged, a high-speed arrest leading to serious charges, and a suspicious vehicle report that kept officers on alert.

Early Tuesday evening, police assisted Estevan Fire and Rescue with a vehicle fire on the east side of the city. A motorcycle caught fire while in operation and sustained extensive damage. No injuries were reported.

Later that evening, a member of the Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan (CTSS) stopped a vehicle between Hitchcock and Macoun for travelling 154 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. The 38-year-old female driver from Estevan performed a mandatory roadside alcohol screening test, which resulted in a fail. She was arrested and transported to Estevan Police Service for further breath testing, but she refused to provide samples. As a result, she was charged with refusing to comply with a breath demand. Her license was suspended indefinitely, and her vehicle was impounded. She was lodged in cells until sober and will appear in Estevan Provincial Court in October.

Police also received a report of a suspicious vehicle at a south-side storage container business. Officers located a vehicle matching the description and conducted a traffic stop. After speaking with the driver, it was determined that no criminal activity had occurred.
