The Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation is raising funds to equip the new Weyburn General Hospital, which is currently under construction on Fifth Avenue north. There are two raffles with two separate draws, with one being a simple 50/50 jackpot, and the other being a round-trip for two from Regina to Nashville that includes a two-day trolley tour and a $2,000 gift card from CAA.

"There are 1,600 tickets available for each draw. [The 50/50 draw] is a maximum of $10,000, so they can win up to that amount," said WDHF Office Manager Whitney Johnson, who said the past two raffle fundraisers included a trip for two to Toronto for a Blue Jays game.

"So this year we thought we'd switch it up, as it seems Nashville is a popular destination these days. The trolley tour it takes you through basically the whole city. You hop on, hop off. So if you want to stay at one place a little longer than you can and then get on and go your next stop," she explained. "So two days that take you around the city, and then you can use your remaining time to do whatever you want. Flights are paid for, and then the $2,000 CAA gift card that you can use towards hotels. Then it's the winner's choice where they want to stay. You can use it for future trips if you want. It's completely up to you. The idea was to go towards accommodations, but that would be up to the winner and they can do whatever they want with it, even save it for future flights."

Johnson said ticket prices are the same for each raffle, with the option of purchasing a few for each as part of the price deals of one ticket for $20, three tickets for $50, or eight tickets for $100.

"Currently we have raised just over $9,200 for the raffle and the 50/50 pot is sitting at just over $5,200," shared Johnson.

With the draw coming up on Tuesday, September 3rd, she said she's hoping to bring the totals up, as less than half of the tickets have sold so far.

"I know people are busy with summer and stuff, so I'm hoping we can get a little bit more," she noted. "Two years ago we did about $14,000 with the Blue Jays and then last year was down to about $12,000. I want to beat last year's total for sure."

Find tickets on the WDHF's website, on their social media pages, or directly on the Raffle Box platform.

The draw will be made on Tuesday, September 3rd, with a live Facebook draw at 10 a.m., and tickets can be purchased until Monday, September 2nd at midnight.
