The Saskatchewan NDP has named their candidate for the riding of Moosomin-Montemartre ahead of the next provincial election.

Chris Ball will be their candidate, having been nominated by local Saskatchewan NDP members yesterday.

“I am honoured to be the Sask NDP candidate here in Moosomin-Montmartre,” said Ball. “I am ready to serve my community in the legislature and deliver on Carla Beck’s plan to make life more affordable and to grow our economy.”

The Sask Party has yet to nominate a candidate, as Steven Bonk, the current MLA, has dropped out of the race as he'll be running in the federal election for the Souris-Moose Mountain federal riding.

Ball grew up in Wolseley and lives with his family in Indian Head, volunteering as a member of the fire department in Indian Head for 15 years.

Ball works operating a mobile service truck for commercial tractor-trailers and farm implements.

“I am happy that Chris is joining our team,” said Saskatchewan NDP Leader Carla Beck. “His dedication and advocacy will make him an outstanding representative for Moosomin-Montmartre.”

The Green Party of Saskatchewan has nominated Rémi Rheault as their nominee for Moosomin-Montemarte.

The Progressive Conservative Party of Saskatchewan has not named a nominee for the election.
