City-wide registration brought people of all ages to Affinity Place last night, offering a chance to sign up for fall programs and get their questions answered.

As summer winds down and activities move indoors, the event serves as an opportunity to gear up for the upcoming season.

“It’s wonderful to see the kids staying active, and it’s equally important for parents to get involved, meet others, and help build our community,” said Erin Wilson, Leisure Services Manager.

Wilson highlighted some changes this year, including the removal of the event fee, which has led to an increase in community group participation. “We wanted to make it more accessible, so we discontinued the fee that used to be attached to the event. It’s been a pleasant surprise to see so many groups take advantage of that, allowing us to showcase a wide variety of offerings,” she added.

The event featured numerous sporting groups, such as Taekwondo, Figure Skating, Mermaid's Artistic Swimming, Estevan Special Olympics, Estevan Minor Football, and the Estevan Bears among others.

In addition to sports, various community organizations were present, including the Estevan Early Years Family Resource Centre, Toastmasters, Southeast College, and the Estevan Public Youth Centre.

“I think this event is incredibly important for letting community members know what’s available to them,” Wilson emphasized. She noted that City-Wide Registration has become a seasonal staple in Estevan, offering a great way to showcase all the city has to offer.
