Weyburn Soccer Association hosted a week-long soccer camp in partnership with Celtic Soccer Academy from Glasgow, Scotland.

Participants and coaches shared their enthusiasm for the camp's success, reflecting the positive energy that filled the Spark Centre.

Gabriela Friesen, one of the youth in the camp, expressed her excitement about the specialized goalkeeping sessions she attended.

"I'm happy that we have goalkeeping systems; I've been loving them. They work us hard, so that's good. If you don't work hard, then you don't really get an experience."

Artem, an 11-year-old from the Weyburn Soccer Association Club, shared his perspective on the camp. Having transitioned from playing as a goalkeeper to taking up the wings, Artem enjoyed the mix of activities.

"It's pretty good. I play a video game of soccer, and I've heard of them (Celtics Soccer) pretty much a lot," he said, adding, "I like having fun and mini games."

Macy, a nine-year-old who shifted from defence and goalkeeping to playing forward, was particularly thrilled by the opportunity to learn from professional coaches.

"It's amazing. This is a first-time thing, and it's the best camp I've ever been to," she said. "My mind was blown getting to learn from the Celtics. I never met a professional soccer player."

The excitement was equally felt by the coaches who traveled from Scotland to share their expertise. Lauren, a coach from Celtic Soccer Academy, was impressed by the facilities in Weyburn.

"The facilities here are fantastic. You're just so lucky to have stuff like this here. Back in Scotland, you don't really see stuff as magnificent as this place," she remarked. "The people are amazing. They've treated us so well since we came in here."

"It's been great. Everybody's been so welcoming. The facilities have been absolutely fantastic to use," he said. "It's a real privilege for me to be able to come and, you know, teach kids across here about football, about Celtic, about everything that we do back home."
