Sylvan Lake RCMP investigating drowning

On Aug. 23, at 5:47 p.m. the Sylvan Lake RCMP received a report of a capsized boat on Sylvan Lake.

An RCMP boat along with a boat from Sylvan Lake Fire were deployed, and assisted nine individuals from the water.

A 50-year-old female was located under the capsized boat, and despite lifesaving efforts was deceased. They were taken to the office of the chief medical examiner.

All individuals on the boat, including the deceased, were wearing life jackets at the time of the incident.

RCMP are continuing to investigate.
