Southeast College excited to welcome back students for their Primary Care Paramedic program running in 2025
Categories

Southeast College will soon accept applications for their Primary Care Paramedic program running in 2025 being held here in Weyburn. Southeast College’s vice president of communications and strategic enrollment Sheena Onrait shared the details surrounding the applications for the program.

“The Primary Care Paramedic program is one that we as a regional college have in rotation. We share with the other regional colleges on a 5-year basis. However, we will be accepting applications for a new intake of the Primary Care Paramedic program being held here in Weyburn. We'll start accepting applications in October of 2024, and that program will start in September of 2025.”

Since this program runs on a 5-year rotation, it's a highly competitive program. It operates as a part-time program running over 2 and a half years. The reason for this is many students in health care are already studying, and those already working in the health care sector can upgrade their skills while still working at their current job.

In fact, it’s so inclusive they only accept 12 people within the program, so they always fill up extremely fast and usually have a wait list for the program. They’ll start accepting those applications on October 1st for the program.

It’s good timing for this program as well with the provincial government announcing that they’ll be handing out over $500,000 worth of bursaries for students looking to enter the EMS program to train to become a paramedic.
