Kate O'Brien of Calgary earned Canada's first medal with bronze in the women's C-4-5 500-metre time trial track cycling event and Aurelie Rivard of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec followed with bronze in the women's S-10 50-metre freestyle swimming event. Paris 2024 organizers say all 11 medal events are to be held on one day, September 1st, instead of two as originally planned. Water quality in the Seine River was also a major issue at the Olympics.
