Suspect wanted on multiple warrants arrested

The Edson RCMP arrested a suspect wanted on warrants from Lacombe, Redcliff, Fort Saskatchewan, Edmonton Police Service, and three other provinces and one territory.  

On Aug. 20, at 6:51 a.m., police received a report of a stolen Mercedes Benz.  

Officers reviewed the surveillance on site and observed two suspects on scene at 12:15 p.m.  

One suspect was identified as 47-year-old Teddy Whyte, located, and arrested.   

Whyte provided RCMP with the location of the stolen vehicle, which was later returned to the owner.   

Whyte was charged with theft of motor vehicle and was remanded into custody for a future court date.
