BAILEY

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James Allen (Jim) Bailey on Saturday, August 31st, 2024, at the age of 74 years.  Born on April 23rd, 1950, in Moose Jaw, SK, Jim was a kind and loving soul who touched the lives of everyone he met.

Jim spent his early years in Moose Jaw, attending school and later moving to an acreage just northeast of the city.  He relocated to Medicine Hat, AB for a period before returning to his roots in Moose Jaw.  Throughout his life Jim was known for his hard work and dedication, spending many years in the trucking industry.  Later, he found joy working for Amil's Taxi until his retirement, which was prompted by health concerns.

A man of simple pleasures, Jim found happiness in the small things.  He loved working in his backyard, enjoying a good cup of coffee, and spending time with friends while sharing stories.  He had a fondness for western movies and detective shows and was an avid fan of hockey and football, which he enjoyed watching with his beloved wife.  Jim cherished his family dearly and had a special talent for teasing and playing with his grandchildren, bringing laughter and joy to every gathering.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph (Joe) and Mary; and sister, Sharon Haliwyz.  Jim leaves behind his loving wife, Wendy; children: Todd Bailey, Blair Bailey (Teresa), Shanon Garnier (Cory Thompson), Misty (Dallas) Ross, and Noah (Shauntel) Anderson; as well as his stepchildren, Karen and Victoria Kruse.  Jim was a proud grandfather to Austin, Brayden, Aimei, Kaitlyn (Tanner) Bradish, Emma, Maddison, Aiyana, Destin, Nevaeh, Kaynen, Keira, Elyse, Austin, Jaden, Anthony, Jessica, and Kalya; and great-grandfather to Grayson, Hayes, and Braylen.  His extended family and many dear friends will also miss him deeply.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital for their compassionate care during Jim's final days, to the Prairie Oxygen Company, and to the Palliative Community Care team for their support.

Jim Bailey will be remembered for his warm heart, generous spirit, and the love he shared with those around him.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and his memory will live on in our hearts of all who knew him.

A private gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate Jim’s life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200-325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, AB T2E 2P5 or Paws N Play Grooming, 290 9th Ave NW, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 4H2.

Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
