At 1:34 p.m., on Sept. 4, the Red Deer RCMP cleared from the 5100 block of 62 Street, specifically around the Wedgewood Garden Apartment complex in Red Deer.  

A suspect was not located. 

Police resources will remain in the area for an ongoing investigation. 

RCMP said that although an increased police presence can be concerning, there is no immediate concern for public safety.

At 7:11 a.m., on Sept. 4, the Red Deer RCMP advised of a heavy police presence in the 5100 block of 62 Street, around the Wedgewood Gardens apartment complex, as they track a suspect.

RCMP advise residents of the complex to follow the direction of the police if they encounter them outside their apartment. Police ask that the public avoid the area and refrain from posting photos of responding officers on social media.

Police said there is a significant number of resources focused on safely dealing with this incident and on protecting the public.
