Weyburn Police arrest impaired driver after two citizen tips

The Weyburn Police Service charged a person with impaired driving after receiving two separate calls last Friday afternoon. The two calls reported a vehicle that was driving erratically, and at an unsafe speed.  

“They were spot on,” said Sergeant Shane St. John. “Officers were able to locate the individual, and they were impaired, and they were charged accordingly.” 

St. John noted the Report Impaired Driver program has had success in the area. The program encourages people to call 9-1-1 when they see a suspected impaired driver.  

“I want to put out a big shout-out to the citizens of Weyburn and the surrounding area,” the sergeant added. “They’re so good at informing us of erratic driving and impaired driving.”
