The Estevan Bruins weren't able to come out with a win in their first preseason game of the year, falling 5-2.
Their opponents, the Virden Oil Capitals, came out strong with three uncontested goals in the first period, all before the 10-minute mark.
After another goal by the Capitals in the second, the Bruins finally managed to knock one in the net for their first goal of the night.
The Capitals ended the period ona sour note for the Bruins after scoring another goal and setting the score to 5-1.
In the third that was soon answered by another Bruins goal, as they managed to keep the capitals out of the net that period.
The game ended 5-2 for the Capitals, with the Bruins unable to make up the early deficit.
The Estevan Bruins will continue their preseason with a game in Aberdeen on Saturday facing down the Wings.
