The Weyburn Independent Riders want to help the Salvation Army this holiday season with their annual Santa Claus Toy Run Parade!

"Last year the need for food was greater so we collected that," said Laurie Norman in a release to DiscoverWeyburn. "This year we are returning to collecting toys."

The Independent Riders will set Santa's sleigh up at Wal-Mart today and tomorrow, September 5th and 6th, between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., hoping to collect as many toys as possible for local kids this holiday season.

Then, on Saturday, September 7th, they will drive Santa's sleigh through Weyburn, backed by dozens of motorcycles, in the annual Toy Run Parade. The parade will begin at the Legacy Park Elementary School parking lots at 1:00 p.m. and will wind through the city, ultimately ending up at River Park. All toys will then be donated to the Salvation Army.

Norman noted that anyone wishing to join in the parade can meet them at the parking lot lineup and join the fun.
