Missoula Children’s Theatre makes its return to Humboldt just in time for the start of a new school year. For the 11th year, the travelling troupe with its directors and exquisite sets will be sponsored by Arts Humboldt (AH!)

This year’s production is Hercules, tale of the Greek demi-god on a mission. Youth from Kindergarten to Grade 12 are invited to attend the audition with roles for all ages. Approximately 60 local area students will be cast to appear in the show, acting and singing alongside one of the MCT tour actors/directors.

“Auditions are on September 9 at the Humboldt Public School,” says Brian Grest with AH!. “We’re sure hoping to see as many kids from our area as possible take advantage of the opportunity for a music theatre experience.”

An information release from MCT says students wishing to audition must arrive at the Public School by 4 pm and be prepared to stay for the full two-hour session. Older participants should be set to participate in the first rehearsal immediately following.

Following Monday’s auditions, rehearsals will continue daily through the week from 4:00-8:30 pm at the Humboldt Collegiate Commons Area.

The week of work culminates in performances on Saturday, September 14 at 3 and 7 pm on the Humboldt Collegiate stay.

It’s always a colourful and glorious display of music, comedy and great local talent when Missoula Children’s Theatre arrives. Plan to attend one or both performances.
