On Wednesday, at around 2:45 p.m., a lone male dressed in safety clothing attempted to rob the Sylvan Lake CIBC (5007 50th Street) with a crow bar.

The suspect entered the bank and demanded that the clerks hand over any available cash. The man fled the bank on foot and was last seen riding a mountain bike.

No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as:
- Standing approximately 6 feet tall;
- Ridding a BMX style bike;
- Wearing a mask, dark sunglasses, high visibility construction type clothing.

Members of the Sylvan Lake RCMP Detachment responded to the area and conducted extensive patrols. 

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
