Weyburn Police Service officially swears in new Chief Brent VanDeSype

Today the Weyburn Police Service saw the swearing in of new Police Chief Brent VanDeSype.  

Chief VanDeSype has served as Deputy Chief for the Weyburn Police Service since 2021. He stepped in as interim chief after previous chief, Jamie Blunden, resigned to take on the same role in Estevan. A release from the City of Weyburn issued last Friday says the decision to make the transition to Chief reflects the city’s confidence in his ability to lead the Weyburn Police Service. 

The swearing in occurred today at noon outside the council chambers at City Hall.
