Hats off to the Humboldt Cultural Services and all the affiliated agencies and partners for another great season of barbecues and music in downtown Humboldt.
Thursday, September 5 saw the final barbecue of the season, this one in support of Humboldt and District Special Olympics. The Special O volunteers and participants were out serving up beautifully grilled burgers on a sunny and windy afternoon.
Ben Donaldson served up the music. An entertainer and music teacher in the area, Donaldson mixed up time honoured classics, like a beautiful acoustic version of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man.” His rich and wide-ranged voice made magic out of the tunes in the set list.
Thanks to everyone who came out throughout the season, and we’ll see everyone out on 6th Avenue next summer.
