Alberta RCMP are still looking for the suspect in connection to a shooting in Rocky View County in August.
On August 6th, a Rocky View County employee and a Fortis Alberta employee were shot, leaving the Rocky View County employee deceased and the Fortis employee with injuries.
One of the two people suspected to be connected to the shooting was arrested and charged by Alberta RCMP on August 11th, and they've been working to locate the second suspect, 28-year-old Elijah Blake Strawberry, since then.
This afternoon (Sept. 6) they released an update with additional pictures of Strawberry.
The RCMP currently have a dedicated team of investigators whose sole purpose at the moment is to find Strawberry and arrest him over the death of the Rocky View County employee.
Even though the RCMP and other support units were in the Red Deer area recently, following up on some investigational leads and checking out several different locations, they were unsuccessful in locating the suspect.
While they don't know his location, the RCMP believe that Strawberry is still in Alberta, and they are asking for Albertans to remain vigilant.
The Alberta RCMP's $10,000 reward for information that leads to Strawberry being arrested has been extended.
Strawberry is described as:
- Light complexion;
- 6 feet 1 inch tall;
- 169 pounds;
- Brown Hair;
- Several Tattoos. The most recognizable of these tattoos include: “Trust” on left hand, “Honour and Loyalty” on right hand, X’s and cobwebs on right side of forehead, geometric lines on left neck and face that extend onto his forehead.
Any information on Strawberry can be given to the Strathmore RCMP at 403-934-3535, or simply by calling 911.
For those who wish to remain anonymous, the information can be given to Crime Stoppers, who is offering a $2,000 reward for information.
Crime Stoppers can be reached at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the "P3 Tips" app available on both Apple and non-apple devices.
The RCMP remind everyone that Strawberry is considered armed and dangerous, and they're advising people not to approach him, but to instead call 911.
