Play for all: Accessible swing installed at Legacy Park

A wheelchair-accessible swing was recently installed at Legacy Park Elementary School. The swing was unveiled last Friday at the school, honoring a disabled student in their fifth-grade class.  

Part of the funding for the swing was from one of the Weyburn Credit Union Community Fund Grants. Other funding came from Access Communiations’ Children’s Charity Fund. 

The schools SCC hosted fundraisers to help with the cost of the swing, and Souris Valley Industries contributed to the cost of the concrete base.  

The swing will help make the playground more accessible for students of all abilities. Students showed their appreciation by giving thank-you cards to the organizations that helped make the swing possible.
