As we approach mid-September, the temperatures still feel more like mid-July.
Over the weekend, Cochrane residents enjoyed what may have been the last extremely hot days of summer 2024.
Natalie Hasell with Environment and Climate Change Canada said Cochrane broke two temperature records, one on Friday then again on Sunday.
"It was 30.6 C on Sept. 6, beating out the 2006 record of 29.9 C. On Sept. 8, we got to 29 C, beating out the 2011 record of 27.1 C."
Residents can expect a cooldown with temperatures in the mid teens throughout the week.
After a cool and wet week, Hasell said it is expected to warm up again for the weekend.
"We should see this rainy period kind of taper off on Friday and temperatures get back to normal for the weekend."
