The HTA Knights and the Foothills Falcons both played host on Friday (Sept. 6) in Okotoks.

The Knights took a massive 53-10 win over the Medicine Hat Hawks, and the Falcons fell 26-7 to the Cardston Cougars.

HTA finished off with 509 yards with 318 passing and 191 rushing. Medicine Hat was held to 145 yards total, with only 20 passing yards, and finished with 125 rushing.

On September 1st, the Knights were in the Golden State to take on Coronado High School and came away with a huge 40-0 win over the California-based team. The Knights rode to victory with 452 yards gained. 384 of them came from their rushing which single-handedly won them the game and were able to gain 68 yards in passing. The Knights only allowed 48 total yards from Cornado and completely defended the passing game, only allowing 10 passing yards.

The Knights visit the St. Francis Browns on Tuesday at 5:00 pm.

Falcons QB Emerson Liepert was voted player of the game after the Foothill Falcons came up short against Cardston. He finished the game with 93 passing yards and a 37% completion on his throws. Liepert also played on defense getting 2.5 tackles, a tackle for a loss, and a fumble recovery. 

The Falcons had more yards than the Cougars with 290 to 270. Cardston only ran for 21 while getting 249 yards passing. The Falcons got most of their yards on the ground with 197 rushing.

The Falcons will host the next game on Friday (September 13th) when they take on Bishop O'Byrne at 6:00 pm.
