Temperatures yesterday (Sept. 8) were unseasonably warm across the province.  

The heat wave broke records for areas of Central Alberta, including Red Deer, Rocky Mountain House, and Sundre.  

The Red Deer area set a record of 31.1 C, up from the previous record of 30 C set in 1923.  

The Rocky Mountain House area broke the previous heat record of 28.9 C set in 1981, after reaching temperatures of 29. 1 C.  

The Sundre area set a record of 29.8 C, from the previous 26.9 C set in 2011.
