Former Okotoks Dawg Matt "Tugboat" Wilkinson is expected to start game one against the Dayton Dragons in MLB's minor league today (Sept. 10).
"Tugboat" had a terrific year with the Lake County Captains, posting a 1.90 ERA, and 174 strikeouts in 118.2 innings pitched. Wilkinson made 24 starts over the season.
The Midwest League's playoff series between the Captains and the Dragons will be a best-of-three matchup, with the first game played today, game two on Thursday, and a possible game three on Friday.
Dayton finished the season in top spot with 40 wins and 26 losses, Lake County finished third in the East Division with 36 wins and 28 losses.
